Proclamation of 13 national heritage places 05 Oct 2010

The National Heritage Council of Namibia has given notice that it proposed to recommend the proclamation of 13 national heritage places in the country.
The proposed national heritage places are the:

House of the first Native Commissioner of Kavango in Rundu.
Eenhana Shrine in Eenhana

Farm Aar near Aus (which is regarded as the most significant site in Africa for ancient organisms)
Matarara Area in Rundu

Okahao Baobab

Ombalantu Baobab

Omhedi Cultural Landscape adjacent to the palace of Oukwanyama

Ondeshifiilwa Mass Grave of the Unknown Plan Soldiers at Ondeshifiilwa village, Ohangwena Region

Onelungo Ponds (a cultural site of the Aambalatu)

Outapi Monument of the Unknown Plan Soldiers

Ozombo Zovindimba (German observation point during the Herero genocide), 20 km from Otjinene

Mass Grave of the Victims of the Rundu-Grootfontein Road Accident in Rundu.

Spitzkoppe (proclamation of larger Spitzkoppe area to include the Bushman’s Paradise Complex
