Brief History

April 1, 1989 marked the implementation of the the UN resolution 435 in Namibia so many Namibians living in exile could return home. Some members of PLAN were celebratng at Onhokolo village it is believed. There were community members who collaborated with the then South African Defence Force who reported the celebration and organised an ambush. It was windy on the day and the PLAN fighters couldn\'t hear the SADF moving in. The PLAN soldiers were brutally killed by South African soldiers, the remains of 20 fighters were brought to the Outapi Army Base where 7 from Okafitu kaKama were buried.
