Brief History
The use of the Ombalantu Baobab can be dated back to the 1900s. During the tribal wars against Aambalantu the tree served as shelter and shield so that the cattle, women and children were not captured. The site was also renowned as a storage place, post office and later a church within the then SWADF,it was from this site where they did all sorts of harrasments and abuse to the local people.
