The National Heritage Council of Namibia would like to inform the Namibian public that the wooden bridge at the Original Dias Cross National Heritage Site has collapsed.
As per the National Heritage Act, No 27 of 2004, Section 5(2)(b) states “For the purpose of performing its functions, the Council may take such measures as the Council may determine for the preservation, conservation, restoration and security of any protected place or protected object...”
The NHC and its stakeholders are working on having the bridge repaired as soon as possible.
Any person, who walks on the bridge at any time before reparations, does so at his or her own risk.
The NHC apologises for any inconvenience caused during reparations.
